Musée des Confluences seems to have descended from space. The futuristic glass and steel construction is located at the southernmost tip of the city. Where the Rhône and Saône meet. In French such a meeting is called 'Confluence', which is the name of the museum. It was designed by the Austrian architectural firm Coop Himmelb(I)bau. Interesting exhibitions about science and anthropology can be seen on 3000 m2. There are often beautiful temporary exhibitions.
