A nice campsite right on the Doubs. Just set up camp. In the evening, someone goes around and registers you. Then you pay at the cash register. I think it was around €7 for the tent. I set up a spot in the shade. The restrooms are a bit older, but when I was there to shower, someone was always there cleaning, and it was noticeable. There was a music festival in the village that evening. The birds were noisy at night, but that's nature. The next morning, we drove to the delicious bakery in the village and then moved on.

The campsite is managed by the municipality. The reception is open for 30 minutes each morning and evening. If you arrive between these hours, you can simply set up camp on a free pitch and report to reception when it opens.

The Lion of Peugeot The house in Montbéliard known as the Lion de Peugeot is a commercial building built in 1909 and located at 37 Rue Cuvier. On the third floor, ceramic wall tiles read "Lion" and "Peugeot" and below is a relief by Alexandre Bigot depicting a lion, the trademark of the Peugeot company that is still known today. Great hotel, especially for festive occasions. Occasionally visits possible for an admission fee.

Considered by some to be one of the most beautiful castles of the 19th century, it was built in a neo-Louis XIII style between 1882 and 1887 on the ruins of an old castle destroyed during the Battle of Villersexel in 1871. Its furniture dates also from this period. Now private, it can be visited between April and October. It also serves as a reception venue for weddings or events.

A sturdy bridge over the Ognon River where you can meet up with a group of other cyclists. The Ognon is a left tributary of the Saône and therefore a sub-tributary of the Rhône. The Ognon crosses ninety-eight communes. In Villersexel you can find many activities linked to this river: leisure center, canoeing, reception lodge...
