The original Marian shrine "La Salette", which is referred to here, is located in the French Alps (Grenoble district) and is an important Marian shrine, even if it is nowhere near as well known as other pilgrimage sites in honor of the Mother of God - such as Lourdes in the French Pyrenees or Fatima in Portugal. It is the first bridge of its type built in Europe. The current bridge is the third “Canada Bridge”.

Here you benefit from a clear view of the estuary with its wooded surroundings of Jaudy, as well as the Canada Bridge which spans it. Known for its great ecological diversity, the Jaudy estuary is a migratory route for many species of fish and birds. It is also home to European otters.

The Château de la Roche Jagu dominates the Trieux offering magnificent views of this coastal river and its steep valley. The castle belongs to the department and as it no longer has any furniture, all attention is paid to the temporary exhibitions and the garden. A little gem nestled on the banks of the Trieux, Pontrieux is a small town of character with medieval origins dating back to the 15th century. Today, a light trail allows you to discover the city in a new light. Pontrieux is also called the city of fifty wash houses due to the many wash houses (mostly private) which run along the banks of the Trieux. Pontrieux also has a small marina which adds to the charm of its narrow streets and half-timbered houses. A real asset for lovers of the sea. Bréhat, Jersey and Guernsey are all destinations easily accessible by sailboat!

The correct name is Pont Canada: Since 1834, three bridges have followed one another in order to cross the Jaudy and connect the municipalities of Tréguier and Trédarzec. These works themselves follow a homonymous tank whose existence is attested from the 17th century. From 1952, a new arched bridge with a span of 153 meters was built with a lower deck made of reinforced concrete (3,200 cubic meters) with 36 steel hangers (each hanger being made up of 40 metal wires of 7mm arranged for form a rectangular section). The main span deck consists of a slab resting on a grid of beams: the 7-meter wide road is lined with sidewalks. Its total length is around 180 meters in length.
