Mazamet train station is ideal as a starting or finishing point for a cycling tour along the Voie Vert Passa Paiis. There are direct trains to Toulouse, for example, to continue cycling along the Canal du Midi.

A training spot for climbs from Mazamet. Beautiful climb with good percentages. However, avoid going downhill, as the road is damaged by winter weather. Many potholes visible at the last moment in the many shaded areas.

Nestled at the foot of the Montagne Noire, Mazamet is a superb playground for sports and nature lovers. The city has a rich historical and cultural heritage which is particularly linked to the fabric industry.

The road follows the Arnette gorges then branches off towards Pradelles-Cabardès. And until then it's a quiet climb that does not exceed 3/4%. From Pradelles-Cabardès begins the real ascent of the Pic de Notre with a slope, again regular, of 6/7% on a road in very good condition. A good alternative if you want to avoid the more severe slopes of the other climb by the Triby road.

Located at the foot of the Montagne Noire, Mazamet is marked by an important industrial past, particularly in the textile sector. You can see many private mansions there and discover the history of the Cathars at the Maison des Mémoires.
