Inside the three-aisled building with a transept, the wall elevation is three storeys high, with the triforium in the nave, framed by cranked cornices, designed as a walkway, but in the choir - which is surrounded by a ring of chapels - it is lighted through. The arcades of the nave still show late Romanesque round arches.
