A very beautiful Romanesque church

One of the Churches of Vexin.

World War I Memorial

Castle built in the 17th century on the site of an earlier building (old foundations). Small temple built in 1790 by Count Alexandre de Villers in memory of his wife. This temple, of modest dimensions and preceded by a portico in Tuscan order, has a double character, both a garden plant and a funerary monument.

Located in Vétheuil, a beautiful village in the French Vexin, the church was built at the beginning of the late Middle Ages, on the foundations of an old building that depended on the abbey of Fécamp. Archaeological research from the beginning of the 20th century found Merovingian sarcophagi. The church of Vétheuil blends in harmoniously with its natural surroundings. Culture and nature combine perfectly, for a moment of contemplation during a hike.

Coming from the village, you reach the church by a majestic staircase of 50 steps 5 m wide, overlooked by a Renaissance Calvary. The church is dedicated to the nativity of the Healthy Virgin; the oldest part, the choir, predates the Hundred Years War and is said to have been built at the expense of King Henry II of England.

A picturesque village, Villers-en-Arthies is the perfect place to take a break. The village has typical French shops and restaurants as well as interesting sites. A settlement has existed in Villers-en-Arthies since 768 and slowly grew into a thriving village. Although many residents moved away to find jobs in the city, village life is still strong. You can also visit the Chateau de Villers-en-Arthies and the pretty medieval church.
