Great church building, unfortunately the church was closed

A very busy and touristy town with many wine bars and restaurants. An excellent place to spend a day.

The motorhome stayed on the grounds of the sauerkraut factory. We cycled along quiet paths to Obernai. We really liked the town center. It has some lovely restaurants and shops. A visit to the city walls is recommended, even though they are no longer completely intact. We particularly liked the Böckler chocolatier's shop, with its many sweet treats. A visit to Obernai is highly recommended.

The "White Cross" – dominating the landscape here due to its monumental size – is far more than just a small sacred monument, such as hikers and cyclists often encounter. The Ehn is a 36-kilometer-long left tributary of the Ill River in the French department of Bas-Rhin in the Grand Est region. It drains a large catchment area that extends across a section of the Vosges Mountains and the Upper Rhine Plain.
