the small town of Bourbonne-les-Bains in the Haute-Marne department has a few recommended restaurants and is the only thermal spa in the Champagne-Ardenne region (the thermal baths themselves are a little outdated). There is also an arboretum with hundred-year-old trees, a small river (L'Apance), some archaeological sites and a former castle. All not exactly world famous but rather modest, but still quite nice.

The first official mention of the village of Châtillon-sur-Saône dates back to 1234 in the district of "Bar". In 1348, the Counts of Bar built a seat and castle. The 14th and 15th centuries are marked by the "Hundred Years War", war also between the duchies of Lorraine and Burgundy. In 1484, the village is destroyed and the area is slammed Lorraine. From 1500 to 1600 the village is rebuilt. Châtillon becomes a strategic crossroads at the entrance of Burgundy, Champagne and Franche Comté at the end of the Middle Ages and throughout the Renaissance. In 1618, the 30-year war ignited Europe, the village is occupied in June 1635, devastated and deserted. In 1660, the farmers are reinvesting in the village. The old fortress next to the church is a ruin. Source: https://www.chatillon-sur-saone.com/histoire-patrimoine/
