A superb climb to start from Chabreloche with very high percentages to arrive at Arconsat then a regular slope, cool in the fir trees even in the heart of summer! Located at 1,110 meters on the heights of Noirétable, the sanctuary of Notre-Dame de l’Hermitage is a reception site (pilgrims, visitors, tourists) managed by the congregation of the sisters of Notre-Dame de la Salette.

The sanctuary of Notre-Dame de l'Hermitage is a magnificent religious site which welcomes hikers and pilgrims, walking on the GR 3 or the paths which lead to Compostela. Throughout the year, the sanctuary is inhabited by the community of the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de la Salette which ensures the spirituality of the place.

A steep pass on both sides, the ascent from chabreloche will allow you to descend towards the Chausseterre and pick up speed. Be careful, a treacherous turn on the descent. The pass also has a history, a sign that reads "here France ends, here begins Auvergne" installed during the Second World War in 1942 by students from Thiers. An inn is also present at the top.
