アヒターン・ディークのとても美しいサイクリングロード

Very popular with us road cyclists here in the region. It's actually quite a mountain for the North German Plain. 😉

A relatively good bike path runs along the road by the dike. During rush hour, I'd prefer the bike path, but otherwise, I'd rather take the road (even though that's not legally permitted, as it's a mandatory bike path).

Here, while having a small picnic, you can watch the dock workers unloading the iron ore.

The observation tower is accessible. There is a bench in front of it that is perfect for a picnic. About 200 m further towards the ferry there is a kiosk where you can buy something tasty.

Lovely little café with a delicious selection of cakes and tarts. When the weather is nice you can sit outside under the trees by a small stream.

Nice to drive, good surface. If the sheep fences are open, you can also use the concrete slab path behind the dyke. Driving from north to south there is almost no right-before-left, which is very pleasant.

Very beautiful, approximately 3km long section between the town of Orth and the Weserdeich. On the left is the Hunte and on the right is the Westergate, and in between is the "Melkhus Cafe", ideal for a break.
