The historical heritage of this village is very old. Testimony of the Neolithic, of the seven menhirs identified in the town, five are still erected. The route is paved throughout and overall easy to drive on. You start in Qissac, there is a small car park for those arriving by car (Imp. du grand Chêne). From Sauve it goes steadily uphill with a railway incline, but is not overwhelmed even with pure muscle drive. The end of the Voie verte comes somewhat abruptly about 1 km after the tunnel behind Saint Hippolyte. The return trip downhill is then quite relaxed.
