The panoramic tower of Mont Bessou, located in Meymac, is a remarkable site in the Millevaches regional natural park in Limousin. The village of Bonnefond has this particularity, like others including Tarnac, of having a four-hundred-year-old tree, here in this case a so-called Sully lime tree. This imposing lime tree has withstood the ravages of time and weather, even if it has been "pampered" in recent years. Adjoining this venerable lime tree, discover the 15th century granite church, of modest construction, and yet whose interior does not leave you indifferent with its floor paved with thick stones, and its oculus on the north wall. The church of Lestards is the only one in France to have a thatched roof, with its 15th century architecture, built mainly in granite. The granite floor has well-recognizable tombstones, although the carvings that adorn them are fairly worn, and old enough that it is not known which local dignitary was buried there.
