The sculpture, located between the harbor and the old town, was created by the French artist Mauro Corda and commemorates the start of the Tour de France in Porto Vecchio in 2013. At that time, the tour visited Corsica for the first time: the first three stages led from Porto Vecchio to Bastia, Ajaccio and Calvi.
