Very beautiful castle. The outside area is very interesting and a nice walk. Unfortunately I didn't see the inside of the castle. The bicycle parking area is behind the archway on the inside on the right.

The patronage of this church in Alencon, "Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption," refers to one of the many memorial days or feast days in honor of the Mother of God Mary. This dates back to the feast of her bodily assumption into heaven. The (Catholic) church celebrates this feast every year on August 15th. In Orthodox churches, the feast is called the "Dormition of the Virgin Mary." In rural areas with a predominantly Catholic population, it used to be customary for the population to collect bundles of herbs on this special day and to bless them in a festive service. In isolated cases, this old custom has survived to the present day.

Magnificent place! The Lande Forêt pond is located in the heart of the Grais departmental forest. By bike, it is accessible via a secure route from the Briouze-Bagnoles greenway in Orne Normandy. An interpretive walking trail and wooden decks allow you to go around the pond. Picnic tables, bicycle boxes and a shelter are available at the entrance to the site.

This forest of pines, oaks and beeches is said to have seen the birth of Lancelot du Lac, knight of the Round Table. The Bonvouloir stone tower offers a wide panorama of the forest. The Vallée de la Tour pond, the Villiers gorges, the Saint-Antoine chapel and the Hippolyte oak, oldest of the forest, are points of interest for hikers.
