Great cycle path along the canal!

At this spot, in the forest northeast of Lviv, the trees give way slightly, creating a clearing where, at an altitude of 420 meters, stands the small sacred monument known as the "Croix Saint-Hubert." A low stone wall and a wooden fence create a small "sacred precinct," at the center of which is the well-preserved cross. At the very bottom of the lower section is the well-known scene from the Life of Hubertus, featuring a stag with a cross between its antlers. Above it, reliefs of two figures are depicted, the one on the left identified as a monk with his tonsure and habit. Between the two images, the year 1786 is inscribed. Above this, the actual cross, which also bears the body of the crucified Christ, rises.

Sarreguemines is distinguished by its rich industrial and artisanal past. Renowned for its pottery, it houses a museum dedicated to this art, testifying to its centuries-old expertise. Crossed by the Saar River, the town offers a picturesque setting with its landscaped banks and historic center, which blends traditional architecture with industrial remains.

Between Saarbrücken and Saargemünd, one of the most beautiful river cycle paths I know. Very suitable for families and also very popular with inline skaters.

Since the two chairs were still there when I visited, I can only assume that sometimes - instead of a choir - a duet does its best there.

The Saar is an emblematic river of the cross-border region that includes Lorraine and the German state of Saarland, to which it has visibly given its name. At this point, it is possible to observe it in one of the main towns of the valley, Sarreguemines.
