10月 2, 2025, Cycle Path Along the Agly River
The ride is mostly on cycling paths with nice views and beautiful sceneries. The destination is unique and the many oyster shacks will serve oysters and other shell fish fresh from the catch and raw. Keep in mind that they don't serve anything else. With your meal you can get water, soft drinks or wine. The prices are very reasonable. We chose to go back along the litoral 8 via Toreilles Plage, which makes other a sixty plus km ride. Well worth it. Tip: check the weather as it can be very windy in this area. We had a 35km head wind going, but that was in our favour on the return.

Wonderful lively little streets in the city center, also great places to eat near the theater. The right reward after a long day of cycling.

Perpignan is not only the capital of the French part of Catalonia. With the Palace of the Kings of Mallorca, the Gothic houses in the old town, the Castillet, etc., the city has a lot to offer.

About 15 km long "bicycle highway" from Rivesaltes to the sea. Top surface, no crossings where you have to stop, only the wind can slow you down.

The square is named after François Arago. He was born in Estagel near Perpignan on February 26, 1786 and died in Paris on October 2, 1853. He was an astronomer, physicist and politician. He discovered that iron takes on magnetic properties when exposed to an electric current. François Aragos grew up with eleven siblings, six boys and five girls. He was friends with Alexander von Humboldt and both were interested in the phenomenon of terrestrial magnetism.

8月 12, 2022, Hôtel Pams
Here is the history of the Hôtel Pams, which is definitely worth a visit and is free of charge. The house was bought by Pierre Bardou in 1852. He is the son of Jean Bardou, who has been producing the JOB cigarette paper brand since 1849. In 1872 further adjoining areas were bought. The owner had a factory built there as a glass and iron construction.

7月 28, 2022, Hôtel Pams
Tucked down Rue Emile Zola, this bourgeois mansion was transformed in the late-1890s for the prominent politician Jules Pams, who would become Minister of the Interior during the First World War. From the outside it’s unprepossessing, but the interiors, rear patio and garden are opulently decorated in the art nouveau and art deco styles. In the entrance hall, lit by a beautiful skylight, check out the portrait of Madame Jules Pams by the vaunted contemporary painter Jacques-Émile Blanche, and appreciate the “grand escalier”, made with onyx and stucco. In the refined garden are statues of the Greek god Pan and Venus of the Myrtles.
