Finally – the ramp for slow-moving traffic is currently under construction. From the end of 2026, the steep ramp next to the stairs and the artwork by Richard Serra will finally be accessible.

Super viaduct, great view

A quick stop to fill your water bottles is worth it. It's an impressively beautiful and large covered fountain. The water is clear, drinkable, and very refreshing. It's located in the small village center of picturesque Lessoc.

Stupid climb to the bridge...but great view!

It's a welcoming place to linger and soak up the atmosphere. There's a campsite near the bridge, and there's a small café there.

This is a village full of typically Swiss charm. It is particularly notable for its fountain, whose octagonal hat is the last example of its kind in Switzerland.

Murten Castle dates back to the time of Count Peter II of Savoy (1255). Under the portal from 1516, which was rebuilt several times and in its current form dates from 1755, there was a cistern that is now only marked in the paving. The large, square tower, the so-called keep or "Luegisland", was used by Adrian von Bubenberg to monitor the events during the battle. While the castle was previously the residence of the mayors or was used as a hospital, barracks and prison, it is now the seat of the senior office of the Fribourg lake district.
