Around 1120, construction of a cathedral began on behalf of the Bishop of Comminges, around which a new small parish grew, named after the bishop. In the 16th century, the sacred building suffered severe damage during the Huguenot Wars.

Magnificent view for the climb to the pass from Artichan-de-Frontignes, however I found the climb on the other side (from the Col de Buret) more interesting because it was a little longer.

The village is very small, a few nice buildings and close to the mountains. Its a bit deserted.

The Fos footbridge spans the Garonne, which at this level is still a small bucolic watercourse. What makes the beauty of the place is not really due to the village of Fos itself but more to its protected natural environment. The village is surrounded by Natura 2000 sites and natural areas of ecological, faunal and floristic interest.
