Fiordland National Park has two entrances, from Te Anau. This bridge is one of them. Be careful, once you have passed it, it is absolutely necessary that you have your entry permit. Controls take place in the national parks (and they are essential for you to book in the refuges). From this bridge you can enjoy a beautiful view of Te Anau Lake.

This bay offers an unobstructed view of Lake Te Anau. It also has a beautiful, long beach suitable for swimming (if the cold water doesn't scare you).

Passing through the paths of the Bird Sanctuary, you will have the opportunity to observe some totem birds of the region. In particular the famous Kea (a kind of mountain parrot) who knows how to be very playful on the heights of Kepler Track. You will find out! Unlike a zoo, it is indeed a refuge that welcomes and puts injured birds back on their feet. New Zealand is very sensitive to the protection of its fauna and flora. Particularly with regard to birds, some species of which have suffered numerous ravages.
