Tonnerre is a small village with character nicknamed "La petite Venise bourguignonne". The Dionne pit is a karst spring known as the Vaucluse source. It is in fact a resurgence located in the city center of Tonnerre. His presence is at the origin of the very creation of the city. It is fed mainly by the infiltration of rain in the neighboring limestone plateau. The Dionne pit is remarkable for its flow rate with an average of 300 liters per second.
