This serene place is the resting place of more than 5,000 French and German soldiers from WWI and WWII. The cemetery, with its simple stone crosses and impressive lead cross, is a reminder of the fierce fighting around Reillon. A place of silence, reflection and reconciliation, where history becomes tangible in the landscape of Lorraine. A large lead cross of 3.20 metres adorns the central memorial.

Not to be confused, this mini waterfall is not Snake Rock, but Bear Cave! Snake Rock is a few meters after 🪨🐍

The Château de Moyen is a 15th century fortress also known as the Château de Qui-qu'en-grogne. It was built by Conrad Bayer de Boppart, bishop of Metz, to defend his possessions against the Dukes of Lorraine. The castle was besieged and dismantled several times. Today it is partly restored and partly in ruins. You can explore the remains of the castle, such as the stately home, towers, walls and moat, and enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The castle is open to visitors from April to October, and you can also take part in guided tours or restoration workshops organized by a local association.

Magnificent place, accessible by mountain bike with some delicate passages, but it is done!

Sadly rather faded and shabby, Baccarat. The nature in the area is beautiful for walking and cycling. Round Baccarat route (about 50 km) was easy to do on the e-bike with Komoot. Quite a few bits on roads with cars, but it was not very busy.

Too bad, I would have really liked to do this circuit but impossible to find the route to get there.
