The Creux du Van is approximately 1,200 meters wide and 500 meters deep. The total length of the rock faces, which drop approximately 160 meters vertically, is approximately four kilometers. The area is located near Mont Soliat at 1,200 to 1,450 meters above sea level. The "Pavilion des Bains" was built in the early 20th century and, after restoration, has found a new home here on the beach at Chez-le-Bart. The beach has a well-kept, large lawn with beach volleyball and a children's playground. The Buvette “La Capsule” finally makes this an ideal place for a short or longer break.

The Creux du Van is a spectacular natural rock arena, formed by centuries of erosion and glaciation. From this particular vantage point, the enormity and grandeur of this arena is before you. You'll also enjoy stunning views of the Jura mountains and Alpine flora, and have the chance to spot wildlife, such as ibex and chamois. If you run the Creux du Van, you absolutely must visit this viewpoint to appreciate its true value.

La Grand-Vy is a restaurant and accommodation located near Creux du Van. It is a historic farmhouse that was restored in 2013 and offers a variety of dishes made with local ingredients, such as cheese, honey, meats and fruits. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of the valley and the Alps from the terrace or from one of the comfortable bedrooms, which can accommodate 2 or 4 people. Le Grand-Vy is a fantastic place to take a break during your run, to refuel or simply to appreciate the natural beauty of the area.
