The title of "highlight" is completely inaccurate. Firstly, this is the small town of Erlach. And secondly, Erlach is 40km from Bern!

The storm and hurricane-force winds last Sunday (June 15, 2025) left substantial damage on the trail. Trees were torn down and piled up. It will likely take several weeks until the trail is cleared again.

Beautiful old town of Murten, it's worth a leisurely walk through. You should also include the circular wall and the castle on the tour.

Erlach (French: Cerlier) is a small town, a political municipality in the Seeland administrative district of the canton of Bern in Switzerland and was the capital of the administrative district of the same name until the end of 2009. The small town of Erlach is located on the shores of Lake Biel at 433 m above sea level. The Jolimont, a 603 m high hill from which you can see Lake Biel, is located in the municipality. Gently gravel path along the Zihl Canal. Partly the path has been renewed, drives well. It rolls along relaxed.

The trail begins at the end of the parking lot at the Gasthaus Brücke and leads over the vantage point on the cliff, where you have a great view of Lake Biel.
