The Vineyard Chapel belongs to the Hünenberg Chäppeligenossen (Church Guild) and was consecrated in 1771. It is a private chapel, in which 14 families from the village of Hünenberg participate. 🤩 Very beautiful view and tranquility!

It is easy to see or cross on a “Reuss tour” with gravel or MTB.

After a storm in 1760, which devastated the vineyards and a wooden cross that was visible from far away, the winegrowers built a chapel in place of the cross using forced labour, which was consecrated in 1762. A copy of the image of the Virgin Mary from Genazzano near Rome was donated for the interior decoration. As the vineyard chapel had been consecrated to the "Mother of Good Counsel", the image attracted a great deal of attention - and many devotees of the Virgin Mary sought comfort and refuge here. This was perhaps also the reason why a larger chapel, the current one, was consecrated in 1771. After the extensions, the chapel received its first bell and in 1819 the beautiful Stations of the Cross, which still adorn the side walls today.

There are some sections along the Reuss where driving is prohibited, but there are often parallel paths for bikers without restrictions.
