The cycle route V81 leads in a wide arc to the north via Tarbes. We take shortcuts on beautiful roads with little traffic to get to Lourdes. It is hilly, lots of forest, cow pastures and individual farmsteads, deserted villages, the infrastructure is missing everywhere (no cafes, shops, etc.), the old stone-walled farmhouses have been stylishly developed as holiday homes and are deserted at this time (June).
