Soverato Vecchia is also worth a visit to see the archaeological site and the Mother Church of Maria Santissima Addolorata where you can admire "La Pietà", by the Renaissance artist Antonio Gagini, a sculpture sculpted in white Carrara marble.

The lido of Catanzaro contains some interesting areas not only for sea lovers, but also for those who love green areas: the pine forest of Giovino is the largest natural area, while in the north of Catanzaro it is possible to find a naturalistic oasis with dunes spontaneous.

Soverato takes its name from the cork tree, which has a strong presence in this area. In Soverato there are various sites of interest, such as the archaeological site of Soverata Vecchia or that of Poliporto where it is possible to see the ruins of old warehouses from the Roman era.
