Carbini has barely more than 100 inhabitants, but it is nevertheless a historic place. The Giovannali, a 14th-century breakaway group of the Franciscans, had their roots here. Because they refused to pay taxes, they became enemies of the state and were brutally massacred during a crusade. The Sentier des Giovannali still commemorates them today, and from the summit, "A Punta," one can enjoy a fantastic panorama.

A very quiet and beautiful route, with hardly any traffic. When I drove along the road in mid-June 2025, I was particularly struck by how green it was. I doubt it's still midsummer.
