Princely views on the Liechtenstein Panorama Trail

The Principality of Liechtenstein is hardly large but it’s spread out over one of the most beautiful spots in Europe. Between the Swiss canton of St. Gallen and the Austrian province of Vorarlberg lie incredible peaks with fabulous views, rustic huts and deserted alpine pastures. The starting point of the Liechtenstein Panorama Trail, which truly lives up to its name, is in Malbun. Right at the start, the fantastic Fürstin Gina Trail awaits you, leading you up to the 2,359-metre (7,740 ft) Augstenberg. On the first day, you hike past the Pfälzer Hut to Sücka. The second stage has cross-border panoramas in store for you, as you walk along the Fürstensteig and the Kuhgrat to the Three Sisters. According to legend, the sisters who gave them their name were turned to stone as a punishment when they went berry picking instead of going to church on Sunday.

Stage three starts at the Gafadura Hut and takes you via the villages of Mauren and Schellenberg, famous for the ruins of two castles, to Ruggell, where the trail officially ends.
