Korkenziehertrasse

Highlight (szegmens) • Kerékpárút

The Korkenziehertrasse joins the Nordbahntrasse coming from Wuppertal-Vohwinkel towards Solingen. It is a former railway line that has been extended to a cycle path, versatile in nature. It rolls wonderfully downhill.

2022. május 22.,Müngsten Kreuzung, Bergbahntrasse, Korkenziehertrasse, Gräfrath, Vohwinkel und entlang der Wupper zurück.

The originally proposed route is flawed in two places:

If you come across the corkscrew route in Solingen, you should turn left and you will then be guided through the middle of the city. Right would be to the right in the direction of Haan/Gräfrath.

The mountain railway route is not passable due to fallen trees from Theegartener Kopf in the direction of Müngsten

That was a nice tour. Lots of routes. I had adapted the tour "View of the Wupper - Müngstener Brückenweg round trip from Bruch" a little. Start/finish in Vohwinkel and a detour to the Raiffeisenmarkt in Solingen. On the corkscrew route I had a nice break in the café on the route. Currywurst with chips was very good and there …

The start of this tour was a bit strenuous - there were stairs in the way that we should have avoided. The road wasn't pretty, but you drove under the suspension railway line. The entrance to the cycle route was easy to drive next to the expressway to the Müngstener Bridge. The way back was quite uphill, after that we …

Short round over corkscrew, Nordbahn and Bergbahntrasse with cranes and a great sunset as a reward 😁. I deserve dinner 🙃

The cable car route from the Müngsten Bridge to the Theegarten Plateau is currently bad to drive, forest work with heavy equipment!

Today I drove under the Müngster Bridge, luckily all the rivets held, even though a train drove over it. Germany's highest railway bridge is worth a trip.
