St. Martin was founded in 1113 from Garding in Vollerwiek. In the 19th century, the Romanesque church building was expanded to the west. The Gothic folding altar in the choir shows a crucifixion from around 1460 with carvings and paintings. The choir screens are dominated by a triumphal cross group from 1663.

Opposite the richly decorated Renaissance pulpit, copies of the portraits of Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon after Lucas Cranach hang on the north wall. The carving and painting of the organ gallery take up the design of the pulpit. (Wikipedia)
