Lovely variant to the Bobia. Not as hard as the climbs via Meredo/Molejón or Soutelo, but still a decent challenge with a pretty steep segment at el Arco/Leirio.
The first segment leads through a lovely and cool forest, so on hotter days you won't melt while on windy days you'll find decent protection. Steady slope around 6-7%, Tarmac is perfect here (suitable for descent). little traffic. After the car park close to the path to the waterfall of el Ciollo you'll get to the second, steepest part with no traffic at all. Stunning views of the narrow valley. in this part, the landscape changes and gets harsher, no trees anymore. You'll be completely exposed to sun or wind. After Leirio, the slope gets a bit flater again (6-8%) and you'll ride the last kilometers with a great valley on your right, probably closely observed by horses. Lovely!
Once on the top, you can turn right to the roundabout on top of the Garganta where you can go down to Vegadeo or further deeper into the mountains of Los Oscos. To the left, you'll have a long, stunning and fast segment riding on the crest of la Bobia (usually with favorable wind too!).
