In the fairway in front of the Leysiel lock, not only the incoming and outgoing shrimp cutters from Greetsiel meet, but when the sailing weather is good, there is brisk boat traffic out into the Wadden Sea and the islands. When the weather is clear you can see the island of Juist directly opposite, in the west you can see Borkum. To the east the view goes over the Leybucht to the coast of the Westermarsch. It's especially nice when nothing is going on.
