The station Göttingen (IATA station code ZEU) is a long-distance and regional traffic stop and the only station of the city Göttingen. The railway station, which was built in 1854 as the terminus of the Hanoverian Southern Railway, joins the Göttingen town center to the west. The station now has four platforms, each with two through tracks. There is also a transit track for freight traffic between the station building and the platforms. In 2013, the station was named "Station of the Year" in the "Big cities" category by the Pro-Rail Alliance (Wikipedia).
