With the completely redesigned "Family lagoon Perlebucht" in 2012, holiday makers in the North Sea spa Büsum have access to a generous bathing and leisure area.
Overall, the island was modeled more as a dune landscape with wind-protected hollows. Large, natural areas with salt moss-like vegetation invite you to relax and take a deep breath. Between the pool and the water sports pool, a pier leads to a terrace-like entry into the mudflats. Here are also service facilities such as restaurants, lockers, DLRG and the like. On the lake side, an attractive promenade invites you to stroll.
The family area offers great, new playground equipment, climbing frames, swings, hammocks and plenty of room for digging. No one is bored here. Friends of ball sports can let off steam with like-minded people on two volleyball courts and two beach soccer fields. Even for water sports enthusiasts, the new family lagoon is a true paradise. Approximately 100,000 m² of water surface are available in the two tide-independent water pools for the well-to-do and water sports enthusiasts. Everyone can learn surfing and kitesurfing at the water sports school.
For a cozy get-together, there are ten barbecue areas on the island, sixteen picnic seating groups and a large campfire circle with eighteen benches.

As long as you have paid city tax, you can swim here for free. Unfortunately, the ground is muddy and the water cloudy. But this place is always filled with water regardless of the tides. For a little body care (especially to flush the sand back from the body) are some outdoor showers ready.
