The Plesseturm is a 1963/64 built and 22 m high observation tower on the mountain Plesse in the Wanfrieder Werra Heights. For the wood construction 34 solid larch larch logs were beaten by the Wierfried district forestry department. At that time, forestry official Dieter Schnell chose four identical 40-meter larch trees, from which the 21.5-meter-high corner posts were made.
From here you have a wonderful view over Wanfried, the Werratal and the surrounding area with Heldrastein, Meißner ...
At the moment access to the tower is blocked for security reasons. A renewal project is on the plan.
