The citadel is the landmark of Spandau. Here you get a great idea of how you tried to protect yourself from enemies in the 16th century. The widely visible Juliusturm even exists since the 13th century. The whole complex is surrounded by a moat and can only be entered via a bridge. The fortress is open Fridays to Wednesdays from 10 to 17 clock, on Thursday you can visit them between 13 and 20 clock. Regularly there are also knight fights and other events.

If you go in you have to report to the gatekeeper. But is not a problem. Beautiful facility!
