Weg zum Schwarzsee

Very nice hiking trail through the high mountains. However, you should wear really suitable shoes (boots or similar), as the path leads over scree and snow fields (picture from July). Suitable for sure-footed persons.

From the Rotkogelhütte to the Schwarzkogel, hikers can enjoy unbelievably beautiful views of the Timmelsjoch, the Gaislachkogel, the reservoir and of course the Schwarzsee on an easy mountain tour that is also easy for families to do. The ascent to the Schwarzsee and the further ascent to the Schwarzkogel should not be underestimated. The lake, which has been upgraded by the tourist office with a jetty and several beautiful benches, invites you to linger. From the Schwarzkogel you have a view of the Rettenbachferner and the Pollestal.
