The "little brother" of the Drachenschlucht is not that narrow, but it is no less beautiful. Here you hike through a quiet beech forest and impressive rocks on both sides. I recommend sturdy shoes, but the trail is mostly easy to walk. The gorge is particularly beautiful in the first green of spring or when autumn colors the leaves.

A hiking trail not only for professionals, but you should wear reasonable footwear. And if possible, have fun hiking ...

Much quieter than the Dragon Gorge. Not quite as impressive, but still very nice and easy to walk with sturdy shoes.

The gorge is very quaint, in Germany you rarely get to see something like that.

The little but almost cooler brother from the Dragon Gorge. Definitely worth it and not so crowded.

In combination with the Drachenschlucht, a beautiful and very varied circular hike is possible, e.g. B. from high sun, possible. Rather plan in the week, then it is not that crowded.

The Landgrafenschlucht is located in the south of Eisenach. It is located east of the B 19 from Eisenach in the direction of Gumpelstadt and Meiningen. It has a length of approx. 2.5 km.

The Landgrafenschlucht and the neighboring Drachenschlucht to the east are a popular hiking destination. Both gorges are connected by a circular route over the Hohe Sonne and the Rennsteig.

The gorge got its name because, according to tradition, in 1306 [1] Friedrich the bitten hid himself with brushwood in the gorge to act against his father Albrecht the Degenerate, who sat in dispute about the succession in the Wartburg.

In the meantime, the gorge was overgrown and no longer accessible. In the years 1992–1997, the gorge was made accessible again through job creation measures.
