The rest area invites you to linger before it then goes up the short but crisp Eckerloch. In the shelter you will find the stamp box of the HWN 011 which is also a duty stamp for the Harz border road.

About 1 decade ago an unfamiliar picture due to a lot of dead wood. This opens up unimagined views in the direction of Wurmberg. Super as the self-rejuvenation in the forest progresses.

Great hiking trail with exceptional nature. Only to be recommended, but rather downhill than uphill.

An incredibly great way that brings you totally into the here & now. Full concentration at every single step. Sporty highlight and my yoga teacher training is really beneficial to me.

The path over the Ekerloch requires some stamina and fitness, but offers great views of the Harz countryside and lets you experience the charm of this area up close. At the weekend or as at Pentecost, but also a lot of people are on the way to Brocken. Hiking is the alternative to the Brockenbahn!

Fairly steep route up, but more varied than the route we took on the way down (which was via Brockenstrasse and the Alte Bobbahn.

In the autumn and winter weather conditions here a good slip resistance is an advantage. You should also wear appropriate footwear. There are always people running up with patent leather shoes, pumps or 08/15 sneakers, just because it is "normal" in the valley.
Mo-Fr sections are currently closed due to forestry work (tree felling).

Here it is possible to sit on a bench and / or protect from rain. It is also the "stamp post HWN 11 Eckerloch".
