Bike Touring Highlight
Beautiful place in the heart of the western city of Karlsruhe. Numerous cafés, bars and restaurants invite you to sit outside in the spring. There are a few smaller shops, a Volksbank, a bakery, public toilets and you can park for free on the square in front of the Krautkopfbrunnen on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays you can do this only when the weekly market takes place there. In addition, some festivals, such as the Linden Flower Festival or the Westwind Festival, are held throughout the year. On top of that, there is an open bookcase where you can swap your old literature for new ones for free. The square was created between 1900 and 1904, and its location, square and street image is listed as an entire historic building, which makes the atmosphere simply wonderful. At major football events, such as the European Championship or World Cup, Café Carré shows the matches live in the open air, league games are only shown in the café itself.
