Hiking Highlight
The largest lake in Berlin, which is why it is actually Großer Müggelsee, invites you to go hiking again and again. If you use the ferry from Neu-Helgoland to Rahnsdorf, you can even walk all around. In Rahnsdorf and Friedrichshagen you can hardly get to the lake, but otherwise there are paths directly on the lake shore.
There is also the Little Müggelsee, a little further east. That is definitely worth a hike. You can only hike along the south bank here, the north bank is not accessible on foot. There is a large swimming area and in the GDR times there was also a large tent site, which was closed after the fall of the wall.
