We are sitting over the Thuringian Forest - in the sky, over the tree tops, on stones. Our Aussichstbank stands on a small rock dome called Seiffartsburg. The children were unstoppable. They have vanished from our sight. As soon as we arrive at the top, it's clear: The Seiffartsburg is our favorite place on the summit hiking trail. The newly signposted, mostly on forest roads running round trip through the Thuringian Forest partly follows the Rennsteig and leads in two days to seven mountains that tear the 900 -meter mark. Among them the highest mountain of the Thuringian Forest, the Great Beerberg (982 m). The second highest, the Schneekopf with viewing platform (1001 meters), is the Neue Gehlberger hut, which invites you to stop by. From here, the path continues to Suhl.(Source: thueringer-wald.com)
