Since the early Middle Ages, the area of Dahl has belonged to the later Hochstift Paderborn. Dahl was probably founded in the 9th or 10th century as a side courtyard of the main courtyard in Enenhus in the course of the colonization of the Paderborn region. In 1000, the Paderborn cathedral burned down completely together with the cathedral monastery, whereby the entire archive was also destroyed. This catastrophe means that many places in the Paderborn region can only be documented in the 11th century.

Anyone who has made it to Neuenbeken can also drive to Altenbeken! The rest area at the viaduct is worth it!
