Tips

  • Wandermaus

When the mausoleum was built in 1873, there was no mention of a castle. The estate Etelsen was then owned by the brothers of the Wisch. They had also planned the construction of the mausoleum together, but only one of them (Hieronymus von der Wisch) should really witness the construction. His brother Johan Caspar von der Wisch died already in 1865. Count Christian Benedictus Johan Ludwig Conrad Ferdinand zu Reventlow was buried last in 1922 in Mauseleum. However, the corpse was transferred to Denmark only two years later.
