Brietzer Mühle

Beautifully located old mill site near the Brietzer ponds.

The former Brietzer mill had an unusual drive technology. It was driven neither by wind nor water from a stream, but with the help of four ponds. They filled with surface water and groundwater, which pushed up the boggy landscape from below. Only when they were full, the water was drained and the mill wheel driven.
