Ludwigshafen is a pretty lake community. It was once called Sernatingen and was first mentioned in 1155. However, the spot gained importance only with the construction of the "Ludwigs" port, from which Baden wines were shipped across the lake to Switzerland. When the railroad reached the lake, a ferry ferry even ran here temporarily. The siding and crane are still standing. Well-tended banks surround the harbor on both sides, which is worth visiting. The beach hotel "Adler" and the Italian restaurant "Aquarama" are located right at the harbor. Other restaurants in Ludwigshafen are the "Restaurant Blauer Affe", "Zinnkrug", "Hotel Krone", hike to the restaurant and the Haldenhof viewpoint approx. 4.5 km (return by bus from Sipplingen). At the station there is another kiosk with a restaurant: the "Ludwigs Häfele". Boatyard (Lembke) with service and repair options and an engine service (Alf Branz) about 2.5 kilometers away on the eastern outskirts.
