In the Ennepe-Ruhr district is located in the Ennepetaler district Schemm directly on the city boundary to Wuppertal-Beyenburg, the Beyenburg chapel Maria snow.
On December 26, 2008, the participants of the annual Family Crib Walk met in Beyenburg.
One of them said that he discovered a circle with a cross in the snow on February 2, 2008 in the meadow near the monastery church.
A pastor, who also attended the crib walk, suggested building a chapel here.
Soon one began to make plans for a Kapellenbau.
A small property was provided by a citizen of Beyenburger.
On this property stood a goat shed.
It was later used as a washhouse and slowly decayed.
Many volunteers worked until the small chapel was completed in September within sight of the Beyenburg Monastery Church.
A brother of the Order of the Cross had inherited a statue of "Mary in the Snow" and brought her to the small chapel.
Since then the black Madonna and Child has been worshiped in the chapel.
Next to the Black Madonna stands a 51-armed chandelier.
On September 11, 2009, the Cologne Auxiliary Bishop visited the new chapel for the inauguration ceremony.
The small chapel has space for up to ten people inside.
Outside is a stone altar.
The chapel lies on the route of the Bergisch Jakobsweg.
