The Protestant church of Gennesareth was built in neo-gothic style. The laying of the foundation stone took place in May 1896. The inauguration took place in the presence of Empress Auguste Victoria in October 1897. The name, the listed church, is based on its location not far from Lake Dämeritz, in reference to the Biblical Sea of Galilee.
