You just have to see the biggest sandstone gate in Europe. Above you have to pay 3 € Eintritrt, which are really very well spent. The inn offers good and very reasonably priced cuisine.

At the Prebischtor one pays an entry of 75Kč - here one comes in the national currency at the cheapest.
There is a small gift shop and many stairs to get to the different views.

The slender rock formation is the largest natural sandstone rock bridge in Europe.
With a span of 26.5, a clear height of 16, a maximum width of 8 and an arched arch thickness of 3 meters, it is one of the most outstanding natural monuments of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. (Source Wikipedia)

In any case, go on the opposite lookout rocks. Here you have a great view of the Prebischtor and a panoramic view over the whole landscape.

It's best to arrive early in the morning so it's not crowded. Avoid weekends and holidays better. It is also great to photograph the Prebischtor at sunrise from the opposite lookout rock.

During the high season and holidays, it is really extremely touristy and very (!) Full. Certainly a beautiful area, but the paved, paved or otherwise prepared walkways leave little room for maneuver and the access to the gullies is sometimes overcrowded. Ruthless drivers and cyclists do not make the experience more enjoyable. Do not expect too much and start early in the morning!

I prefer to approach the Prebischtor from the Rainwiese, which is calmer and more beautiful.

Great located restaurant under the big sandstone arch. Admission is required (even if you only want to eat), adults € 3, children and reduced € 1.

Great destination for a hike. Admission must be paid, even if you only want to use the restaurant. Still very worthwhile.

Worth the €3. Great views and cheap beer - what's not to love?

  • Thors Gate

Here you will find a truly impressive piece of nature with a beautiful view of the Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland. By 1982, the Prebischtor was also accessible, but due to the rock erosion, this is no longer possible today. Directly on Prebischtor is a small restaurant, which invites you to rest. Furthermore, I recommend to do the tour in the early or late season, as in the main season on the spot a large tourist frequency is recorded.

In winter you should pay attention to suitable footwear. Sometimes the paths under the snow can be icy. The excursion restaurant invites after the rise, however, to stay and warm up. Whether in summer or in winter, the gate is an impressive natural monument.

If you come shortly before the end, at 15:20 clock, you seem to pay no more entrance and you can go to the lookout points.
