It takes about two hours from the Ifenhütte to the summit. If you start in the valley, another 55 minutes will be added.

    Beautiful panoramic view.
When you get up in the morning, there is not much going on. I was as good as alone in the morning at 9 :-)

The path to the Ifen has small climbing sections with rope guide. Sometimes a bit slippery due to moisture. Good footwear and sure-footedness required. You should also be free of vertigo.

Partly steep sections and small climbing sections with cable guide to the summit. Sometimes a bit slippery due to moisture. Good footwear and sure-footedness required. You should also be free from vertigo.
But if you're upstairs you have a nice all-round view.

The High Ifen (also Hochifen) is a 2230 m above sea level. A. or 2229 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Allgäu Alps, west of the Kleinwalsertal. In winter, it forms the backdrop for a small ski area. It is located on the border between Germany and Austria. The summit represents the highest point of the slightly inclined Ifenplateau. On it the municipal boundaries of Egg, Mittelberg (both Vorarlberg) and Oberstdorf (Schwaben) meet.
Northeast of the Ifenplateau is the Gottesackerplateau, a protected karst landscape with numerous caves and rare mountain plants. The most important caves are the Hölloch in the Mahdtal and the Schneckenlochhöhle near Schönenbach. On the eastern slope of the Bergstock, a Stone Age dwelling was discovered in 1998 by the amateur archaeologist Detlef Willand on Schneiderkürenalpe at an altitude of about 1,500 m, and was uncovered by the University of Innsbruck with expert guidance.
